Project overview

New hydro power plant Ejpovice is located in western Bohemia. The whole power plant consists of new concrete weir, earth dam (300 m long and 6 m high), use 1.7 km long tunnel diameter approximately 4 m, powerhouse connected to pressure tunnel with short penstock and open channel connecting to river Klabava.

The project core is reconstruction of historical tunnel from 1950’s, it was updated to pressure tunnel with several method (grouting, foil inner sleeve, special concrete application and chemical patching. Vertical Kaplan turbine with 5 runner blades spending head 17.5 m gives 0.4 MW, total derivation length is 2.5 km.
